IN LINE WITH GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES ANNOUNCED ON THE EVENING OF SATURDAY 19th DECEMBER, CIWW WILL BE CLOSED FOR RECREATIONAL CUSTOMERS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY DUE TO THE TIER 4 STATUS IN WALES. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new dedicated professional rescue website – now separate from the CIWW recreational webiste, and with a look and feel all of its own.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with our rescue training, here’s an introduction to the type of professional training courses that we have on offer at CIWW.
Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) operates a world class, artificial white water site. This means we can pump our water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at a level to suit any water training requirements. With our floodlights, we can make night seem like day, or if you prefer we can leave them off to add an extra night-time element to your rescue training.

We also place vehicles into the white water course and have strainer and foot entrapment simulators to help make your water rescue training feel real, all the while ensuring that these experiences are provided in a safe, controlled environment.

The course is available to hire to any suitably qualified group for your own water training. We have an onsite café, excellent transport links, and, as you’d expect from a state-of-the-art facility, showers and changing rooms. You can hire out a vehicle for use in the water, and we regularly have new kit available to try from leading manufacturers.
CIWW are a dedicated Rescue 3 Europe Training Provider in South Wales. We can cater for any water rescue or water safety training course, at any size, either at our £16m, purpose built centre or on the local rivers of South Wales. Or, for the best of both worlds, why not let us combine the two!
We run a wide range of water rescue and safety courses, from water awareness to SRT Instructor levels. A popular way to revalidate your current SRT qualification is with the 2-day Rescues from Vehicles in Water course. Your course can be certificated through Rescue 3. Check out their range of courses at, and then contact us to book your places.
For a more tailored approach, we also offer bespoke training packages to suit your individual needs.

Over the next couple of months, we’ll be introducing you to our trainers, take a closer look at some of the professional courses CIWW offer and examine the technical aspects of water rescue. So stay tuned to the blog!
