This one day course is for all persons that are engaged in confined space activities, and complies with the City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Working in Low Risk Confined Spaces (6150-01 - Water and 6150-51 - Non-water).
Delegates will gain knowledge of the specified hazards that may exist in confined spaces. This course will identify the best working practices and safety procedures that should be used when working in these conditions.
The training is aimed at workers operating in a low risk environment defined as entry with adequate natural or mechanical ventilation. Access and egress is unobstructed and simple, and areas where there is no likely risk of flooding (for example valve chambers or meter pits).
The course content will be delivered through a mixture of both theory and practical exercises that will cover the following subjects:
Assessment will be by continuous practical assessment and a multi-choice written paper.
An optional two day course can also be undertaken for persons that require the use of a self-contained breathing apparatus.
The certification is valid for 3 years.
